Envoy Reiterates Palestinian Refugees' Right of Return http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=9003100776

Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran Salah al-Zawawi reiterated that Palestinian refugees sheltered in the neighboring countries would never give up their right of return to their homeland. "We do not withdraw even from a single span of our soil and the refugees' right of return," Zawawi told FNA on Tuesday, and stressed that Beit-al-Moqaddas (Jerusalem) will certainly be the capital of the future independent Palestinian state. He also reiterated that Palestinian people and government believe that all the Jewish settlements built in Beit-al-Moqaddas and other parts of the occupied Palestinian territories are illegitimate.

Earlier this month, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili reiterated that the uprising of the Palestinian refugees in the neighboring countries paved the way for the return of in-exile Palestinian citizens to their homeland. He said the uprising of Palestinian refugees in the neighboring countries paved the road for the return of in-exile Palestinian community and the ouster of the Zionist regime from the occupied territories.Jalili also said that Palestinians marked the second chapter of Islamic Awakening on the Day of Nakba (catastrophe) (May 17).

In Lebanon, at least 10 people were killed and some 30 injured during protests on Nakba Day marking the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homeland Palestine by Israel. The Israeli forces on the "Blue line", the withdrawal line of the Israeli army in the year 2000, fired at the protesters who marched towards the bordering fence which is still not an internationally recognized border. Legal experts say that they have enough judicial evidences for a case, and the victims have decided to go all the way.

Many western activists who took part in the Nakba protests blamed the western powers' support for Israel. They say this support is allowing Israel to continue with such aggressive behavior. Over 14 Palestinians were killed during the protests to mark the 63rd anniversary of Nakba Day in Lebanon and Syria.
